2024 4th of July Fireworks

Optimist Club Fireworks at Jacksonville Elementary School on the Saturday night preceding the 4th of July has been a staple of our community for as long as can be remembered … that is until this past summer of 2023.

Members of the Optimist Club just didn’t have the numbers or strength to get it done last year. Enter Carroll Manor Rec Council!

We are pleased to announce that we are partnering with the Optimist Club moving forward and planning for the 2024 Fireworks Extravaganza is underway.

Fundraising for this event is also underway. Registration for each CMRC Program will include a $5 donation which will help cover the costs for the annual fireworks and pre-event festivities, unless you choose to opt out.

Concussion Protocol

State law requires that a youth athlete who is suspected of sustaining a concussion or other head injury in a practice or game shall be immediately removed from play. This injured athlete may not return until they have obtained written clearance from a licensed health care provider trained in the evaluation and management of concussions and head injuries. The term “youth sports program” is defined as a program organized for recreational athletic competition or instruction for participants who are under the age of 19 years. Volunteer Notice

Becoming a volunteer with the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks is a three-step process: contact your local community office, apply and undergo a background check, and receive authorization. Learn more about the Volunteer Registration Program.

Volunteers must submit an application and be authorized every year. The process is free for volunteers.

You will only be contacted if you do not pass the background check. Volunteers who pass the check WILL NOT be contacted.
