An opportunity to earn extra income while joining a very special group of Umpires.

The Fall Ball season is a great way to start your umpire career. While fall baseball is a learning tool for coaches, it is a great training opportunity for us to train new umpires – less stress with no emphasis on winning games.

How do I get started?

Please contact either Mike Schilpp (717-715-5640) or Ron Adamski (443- 324-3344) to get signed up and get your name on the class list. Class size will be limited.

The training session will have 3 parts:
Part I – classroom work (8/6 & 8/7) 6:30 – 8PM – Serre Bldg- 4021 North Point Blvd
Part II – Will have schedule cage work training to master skills of calling Balls/Strikes
(8/20-8/21) Time to be determined by class size.
Part III – Scrimmage games either 8/24 or 8/25 – Time and location to be determined
Fall Ball season starts 9/8/2024

If you are a 1st year umpire with BBUA and have not had any classroom work/cage training you are encouraged to attend.

How much are game fees? You can be paid any where in the range of $64 to $80 per game

What is the cost to get started? Your initial cost to get umpire gear can be any where from
$100 to $200 depending on your quality of gear. A list will be provided to you prior to the class room work.

What do I need for the training classes? The first 2 class dates you will not need your full gear. You will need it when we move to the cage work.

Is there any cost to attend? There is no cost to attend to the classes. We ask you only attend if you have a willing to be committed to learning and having fun.
