The 2008 FALL SESSION BEGINS MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH FOR 6 WEEKS

***Sept 9th Evening Aerobics will be at CMRC REC due to Carroll Manor Back to School Night***

The Carroll Manor Fitness Program offers a variety of classes. New participants to the program should arrive at class 15 minutes early to register. Registration forms are available on this website to print and may be mailed. After that you only need to mail in your check at the beginning of each new session if you are going to continue with the program. Calendars will be available at each class with updates on canceled classes or any other changes that are made. Everyone will be expected to sign in upon arriving at class.

Class Descriptions

Aerobics

An energized hi/lo aerobics class that conditions your cardiovascular system and improves coordination and balance. This class is an easy-to-follow aerobic and toning workout. Classes feature a 30 minute muscle conditioning segment using resistance tubes, bands, balls, and weights to tone the different muscle groups. There is a 30- minute calorie-burning aerobic workout and cool down segment followed by stretching exercises to make the most of your exercise routine. Bring a mat and water bottle.

Intervals

Interval training is repetitions of high-speed/intensity work followed by periods of low activity. This method of training is more effective at inducing fat loss. Different types of Cardio routines will be combined with a slower paced resistance work out.

Yoga

We will explore gentle peaceful yoga postures to somewhat physically challenging poses. Yoga promotes flexibility, relieves stress, reduces weight, and improves balance and concentration. Emphasis is on the core muscles. Improve your posture, lengthen your muscles, increase your range of motion, relax and de-stress. This class is designed for adults of all ages and fitness levels. If you ever wanted to try Yoga in a non-threatening environment, this is it! Join us and feel better! Please bring a yoga mat , a blanket and water.

Beginner Pilates

This non-Classical style of Pilates provides a full-body workout that will strengthen and tone your core. Pilaties is a series of progressively challenging movements combined with proper breathing techniques that will improve your posture and balance, give you longer, leaner muscles, stronger abdominals, and increased flexibility and range of motion. At the end of each class you will feel invigorated and relaxed at the same time. Please bring a mat and a bottle of water.

Cost

The cost for the Carroll Manor Fitness Program follows.

Cost:

AEROBICS

$30 for 1X per week

$40 for 2X per week

$45 for 3X per week


YOGA OR PILATES

$40 for 1X per week

$80 for 2X per week

 

Notes *Yoga is only available at a discount as a part of the Fitness Program
* There is a drop-in fee for Yoga of $10 per class if you are not signed up for the Fitness program.

Cancellation Policy

  1. Whenever schools are closed for the entire day for inclement weather (snow, heat, hurricane, etc.) then all fitness classes are canceled.

  2. If Baltimore County Schools open 1 or 2 hours late due to inclement weather, all morning classes will be canceled. Evening classes will be held as usual.

  3. When schools close early for inclement weather, evening classes will be canceled (regardless of weather improvement).

  4. If schools do not close early, but ANY PHASE of the snow emergency plan goes into effect at any time, then evening classes are canceled.

  5. Jacksonville Elementary School is located in the Hereford Zone of Baltimore County. If the Hereford Zone opens late, closes early, or is closed for the day, classes held at Jacksonville Elementary School will be canceled. No other class locations are affected by the Hereford Zone closing.

  6. When schools are closed for holidays or vacations, then all evening fitness classes are generally canceled. The instructor will announce any exception in class. Check monthly calendars for updates.

  7. Cancellations or relocation of a class are sometimes required due to school sponsored activities. Instructors will announce these changes as they are identified. Check monthly calendars for updates.
