REGISTRATION -
Registration forms will be processed on a first-come, first-served
basis. You will be notified ONLY if you do not
get your first choice! Please enroll your child in grade
level they are in at school. Any exception to this policy
will be made after walk-in registration and with approval
of the class instructor and program chairmen. As always,
class times are subject to change, depending on enrollment.
We will also hold a walk-in registration on Saturday,
September 13, 2008, from 10am -12pm, in the activity
room at Jacksonville Elementary. We will have retail sales
of dance shoes and clothing again this year, as well as
our popular "shoe swap" during this registration.
If you are interested in the shoe swap, please put your
shoes in a Ziploc bag with your name, the price, and self
addressed stamped envelope to walk-in registration.
All students will be required to wear a leotard,
tights, appropriate shoes and hair out of face to each class.
Classes will begin on Monday, September 15, 2008
CLASS OBSERVATIONS
- Please wait in the waiting room outside of the activity
room during class to avoid distracting the children (or
the teacher). If separating from your child is a problem,
please be considerate of the other students in your efforts.
The classes for the littlest dancers are not long, and someone
who is not should not distract those children who are ready
to learn. During January all parents are invited to stay
and watch your child's class - bring your cameras!
ATTENDANCE
- Regular attendance is necessary to learn proper
technique, develop self-confidence, and learn the steps
necessary for the class to progress. Please be on time
for both drop off and pick up. We ask that parents escort
your child to the classroom no earlier than 5 minutes before
it starts. Please come into the dance room with your child
both at arrival and dismissal. You will develop rapport
with the instructor, and also meet new faces.
If siblings are brought to the school, they must be strictly
supervised at all times. Please don't let them roam the
halls, or play with the water cooler.
PICK UP AND DROP
OFF- Please have your daughter picked up
on time. We cannot be responsible for girls sitting in the
waiting room while another class is starting. If you are
the last class of the night, or the last class for that
teacher that night, and you are late picking your daughter
up the teacher cannot leave until all the girls are gone.
If you pick your daughter up late we will charge $1.00
for every minute you are late, to be paid in cash,
that day, to the instructor who had to stay late. There
will be no exceptions to this rule.
CLASS BEHAVIOR
AND RULES -
1. Do not run in the dance room or anywhere else in the
school.
2. Do not bring foods or drinks to class. Water bottles
are allowed - your child will not be
allowed to leave the activity room to use the water cooler
in the hall.
3. Do not chew gum.
4. Students should use the bathroom before coming to class
5. Students will not be permitted to leave the activity
room until someone comes to get them.
LOST AND FOUND
- Please label your children's shoes and clothing with their
names. All items left in the activity room will be stored
in a plastic bin marked "Dance Lost and Found".
Please feel free to check the bin for missing items.
PLAYCENTERS
- If your child is coming from Playcenters or returning
to them from class these arrangements need to be confirmed
with the staff at Playcenters. The dance teacher will provide
supervision once your child reaches the activity room, but
cannot be responsible for escorting your child to and from
class.
PHONE TREE MOMS
- All of you who volunteered to help with
the class phone tree will receive a class roster with telephone
numbers and e-mail addresses for each student. If classes
are cancelled for any reason, you will be asked to call
each student to let them know.
COSTUMES
- Please note this date on our yearly calendar - All children
will be measured for their costume(s).
RECITAL
- We are in the process of getting approval for our
recital location and dates, however, nothing is confirmed.
We will post the dates as soon as we can. As always we try
to have the recital before Baltimore County Schools go on
Spring break.
WEATHER INFO
- Call 410-887-1840 for recording on Saturday mornings;
all other day's follow
Baltimore County schools cancellation policy. If schools
are one or two hours late the 12:00 classes will still run
on time. If a snow emergency plan is in effect we will not
have class.
Please check the Carroll Manor Recreation
Website at www.carrollmanor.org
for any new postings. We plan to use the web site as much
as possible to keep you informed of any changes in classes
and recital information. We will still try to send fliers
home with this information so please pay close attention
to all fliers we send home, and as always, feel free to
call us with any questions.
