  • NEW - Registration fee payment policy per the CMRC Board - Registration fees must be paid at the time of registration on line. If you opt out of payment at the time of registration your registration will be canceled by the system automatically and will not show up on our registration list. You must be registered and paid to be allowed to participate in any practice or game - going forward this will be strictly enforced and check payment by mail will be phased out after this initial change over period.   • Our Spring Program are now started! Chops is doing concessions and is offering a coupon for the summer to visit for all CMRC families. For coupon click here!! Check your program web page or your coach for details on opening day festivities.
  • 2012 Fall Soccer registration is now open! Click here to register. If you are planning on trying out for a travel team you must be registered and paid prior to the first tryout or you will not be able to participate. There is new age group this year U7 Challenge. Details coming on April 2nd! All registrations will be on line following the new registration guidelines. Hotshots registration fee is $65. All other age groups the registration fee is $75. After 7/31, on 8/1 the waitlist starts and a $10 late fee will be added.
  • As mentioned in last month’s newsletter, Brian Walsh, a CMRC Dad, is running for Man of the Year for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Follow his campaign and support this important cause by accessing the following link http://mdc.mwoy.llsevent.org/brianwalsh Brian would love to see you at one of his fundraisers but if you can’t make them then you can donate online at this website. No donation is too small. The campaign starts APRIL 4th and the website can be used at that time for donations and information.
  • The Carroll Manor Cardinals 12U Baseball team is going to Cooperstown! Read the press release! . Please join the CMRC community in supporting the team and this event.   • Under Armour Elite Maryland Premier Volleyball Club Is Hosting an 8 Week Clinic - April 22, 2012 thru June 17th, 2012 (excluding Memorial Day), Sundays Only: Girls & Boys Ages 8-14. See mail in registration form for details.
  • Perspective Summer Lacrosse League - This League gives young girls an alternative to the club lacrosse season with both a concern to the cost and the commitment of the local club options. Starts Tuesday June 12th and ends Friday July 20th. (Bye week July 4th). See mail in registration form for details.
  • Al Bumbry 2012 Top Shelf Baseball Camp - Ages 5 -15. July 9-13 from 10 am to 2 pm at Hydes Fields. Camp fee is $175. Please see mail in registration form for details.   • Summer 2012 Basic Soccer Training Camp - Camps will be held at Carroll Manor Elementary School. Children ages 6-14. Cost Per Camper - S150 per player. Camps will run Monday through Friday during the following weeks:

  • Fast Flicks Field Hockey Summer Camp 2012 - July 23 - July 26 at St. James Academy. Anita Podles brings years of diverse field hockey experience to Baltimore County. A former Division I collegiate player and Division I coach, she is currently a field hockey official with the Baltimore Board of Women's Sports and a CMRC Parent. Classes are limited in size per level and are first come, first serve. Grades 1-2 $125, Grades 3-5 $150, Grades 6-8 $150, Required Equipment: Stick, Shin-guards, mouthguard, water bottle, tennis shoes for indoor play, cleats (optional).   • NEW CMRC SUMMER CAMP - KIDS RISING DAY CAMP: Kids Rising is a series of interactive day camps designed to help children and early teens achieve personal growth. Camp Dates : July 3, 10, 17 and 24, 2012, 9:30 am- 3 pm at Sweet Air Park 3605 B Sweet Air Rd, Girls and Boys ages 8-13, Cost $50.00. Registration is mail-in check only.   • Summer basketball camps at Loyola Blakefield - The weeks of the camp are July 16-20 and July 23-27. See flyer for details. Contact and all registration go through Loyola not CMRC.
  • Roller Skating at Carroll Manor Elementary- This programs is for preschool aged children to 5th graders ONLY! Please see registration form for details, registration, policies, program contact information and to volunteer.
  • Looking for new chair person. - The basketball program is looking for a new chair person. If you are interested, please contact Brian Caldwell at CMRCbasketball@mrcaldwell.com. Our rollerskating chair person is also stepping down, so if you want to see this program continue please contact Mary Sevison at marysevison@petroexp.com.

  • CMRC Karate - The next session started on Monday, May 7, 2012 for 4 weeks. Please note, class sizes are limited and registration is on a first come basis. PLAN TO REGISTER FOR Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
    THE SUMMER SESSION Monday, June 18 through Saturday, August 18 (16 classes) Registration is on Monday, June 18 at 6:15 pm. First class starts at 6:30 pm. Still only $70 per student/$140 per family for the eight-week session. See flyer or martial arts page for details.

  • Cancellation policy: If Baltimore County public schools are closed, OR after school programs are canceled due to inclement weather, OR the Baltimore County Snow Emergency Plan is in effect, all scheduled activities are canceled.

In 1999 Baltimore County Bureau of Parks and Recreation celebrated its 50th anniversary. It was also Carroll Manor Recreation Council's 50th anniversary! In April of 1949, CMRC was one of the original 13 recreation councils in Baltimore County. The original recreation councils included Banneker, Catonsvillle, Cockeysville, Dundalk, Fullerton, Loch Raven, Parkville, Pikesville, Liberty Road, Ridgeleigh, Stoneleigh and Turner Station. CMRC is proud to bring Long Green Valley a variety of youth and adult recreational programs.

Council meetings are held the second Thursday of every month at 8:15 PM.

Our registration fee payment policy has changed. With any program registering on line you must pay at the time of registration on line by credit card or E-check through paypal or your registration will be canceled, you WILL NOT be registered. You must be registered and paid to be listed on the roster of players and to be allowed to participate in practices or games - going forward this will be strictly enforced. We will not be accepting checks in the mail after this initial phase in period. If you have questions or issues with registration or fee payment, please contact Lisa Hosier at lhosier@carrollmanor.org as soon as possible.
